NORTHERN LIGHTS NT-immersive and interactive spaces
Northern Lights NT presents real-time, interactive, and dynamic projection systems, showcased at The Array Darwin. These custom-designed systems offer an engaging experience for all ages, fostering creativity and interaction.
Using advanced, cutting-edge software, Northern Lights NT develops bespoke content tailored to unique environments. The system’s innovative design allows multiple users to engage simultaneously, creating immersive and interactive experiences like no other.
In 2020, Northern Lights NT was commissioned to create a dynamic projection installation onto a sand circle for the Northern Territory Tourism Showcase at AIME. This immersive system utilised a top-down projection, combining stunning visuals and rich audio to capture the sights and sounds of the Northern Territory. The experience fully enveloped the performers, creating a mesmerizing fusion of light, movement, and storytelling.
Northern Lights NT created an immersive and interactive experience for the launch of the Radicle Centre at the new CDU Darwin Campus. As guests entered, they were welcomed by a dynamic floor interaction, followed by a rear-projected interactive wall, enhancing engagement from the very first step. The Radicle space was completely transformed with ceiling projections, an immersive audio pod, tactile hexa tiles, and two interactive projection systems that responded to movement, visually demonstrating the dynamic interactivity of particles.
Northern Lights NT showcased "Grounded" at the 2024 Parrtjima Festival of Light in Alice Springs' Todd Mall. This dynamic projection system featured two powerful 15,000-lumen Epson projectors equipped with ultra-short throw lenses. The combination produced a stunning 15-meter-wide ground projection, inviting participants to interact with pre-animated video content in an immersive and engaging experience.
Northern Lights NT designed and delivered a specialised immersive and interactive experience for Casuarina Square. To ensure durability and safety, a custom system was developed featuring multiple waterproof enclosures and a unique deployment mechanism. This system allowed projectors to be raised to the optimal height each night and securely retracted to ground level when not in use. Engineered to withstand the challenges of the Northern Territory’s cyclone season, this solution ensured both safety and rapid deployment, maintaining a seamless and engaging experience
