Collaborative Projection Mapping Workshop: Real-World Creative Mapping


Led by Shane Eecen – Northern Lights NT

Experience the energy of collaborative digital light art in this 45-minute interactive session where artists and audiences work together to create a live projection artwork.

Professional projection artist Shane Eecen from Northern Lights NT will lead participants through the creative and technical process using MadMapper professional software — the same tool used for major festivals and architectural light projections around the world.

Together, participants will explore how light, colour, and movement can transform a surface into an evolving digital canvas.


Contribute Your Art – Be Part of the Projection

This is a shared creative experience.

Participants are invited to contribute before the session by downloading the official image template, colouring or animating their design, and submitting it by Friday 7 October.

Submissions will be integrated into the live projection during the workshop, where the group will collaborate in real time to shape the final artwork.

Create and Share Your Projection Artwork

Get involved and see your art come to life in our collaborative projection session!
You can download the Projection Mapping Template using the buttons below:

  • JPEG version – perfect for simple colouring, sketching, or animation.
  • PNG version – ideal for advanced artists who want a transparent background for layering effects or motion graphics.

Each white shape in the template is your creative space — fill it with colour, movement, or light-inspired ideas. Experiment with gradients, glowing effects, or bold abstract designs to make it shine during the workshop.

To guarantee your artwork is included in the live session, please send it to us by Friday, 7 October via email, website upload, or messenger.
You’re also welcome to bring your design along on the day — and if time allows, we’ll do our best to include it in the live projection.
